• HHC aims to instigate awareness in the communities by building the awareness level of the community and strengthening the portfolio of the village health workers or community health workers. The following practices are adapted by HHC to meet our primary goal of imparting basic health knowledge at the grass root level:

Health Training: Imparting training to the community or health workers (from NGOs) according to the need of that area in an easy and understandable style is our first and most widely used method for instigating awareness. The trainers who are formerly trained to give training in communities in a demonstrative manner.

Production of IEC Material: Information, Education and Communication (IEC) are a very crucial and effective method for disseminating information in the community through easily understandable and demonstrative representations. Manuals and posters are prepared by us according to the various needs of different subjects keeping in mind the cultural diversities of the prospects and the same is then displayed in the community.

First Aid/Medical Kits: Preparing and distributing first aid or medical kits in the communities where primary health care facilities are not available or are far away from habitation, such kits are prepared by us and are given to the village health worker who is properly trained to make a proper use of the same.

Kutchch	1. Organized disease detection and treatment camp in the earthquake affected area and imparted training to the health workers of the community in liaison with the Bombay Sarvoday Friendship Centre. 2. Distribution of productive equipments useful for plumbering, electrician, painting etc. 3. Training imparted to the field staff of voluntary organizations (GJJS,MARAG,GSS etc) 4. Health education in the 50 villages of Rapar block 5. Distribution of health kits, imparting health education in the community and training of the village health workers in 10 villages near Samakhiyari. (Bache block)
Surendranagar	1. Gave mid-wife training to the dais at Dhrangadhra with help of SWATI 2. Health education in the villages and training to the health workers in the villages in vicinity of Halvad with the help of CEE
Rajkot	Organized disease detection and treatment camp in the earthquake affected area and imparted training to the health workers of the community in liaison with the BSC, Ahmedabad in the villages near Morbi viz: Bagasara, Amaran and Vavania.
Ahmedabad	At Muthiagam,Naroda imparted health education through “ apanu swasthaya Kendra”. Celebrated “Breast Feeding Week” in the Vadilal Sarabhai General Hospital with the help of CHETANA
Gandhinagar	Exhibition on various diseases in the “Arogya Jeevan Darshan” organized by the Civil Hospital in Feb’04
Anand	Karamsad: Provided training to adolescent girls, health education, school health education, college health education in the nearby villages and communities.
Nadiad	Exhibition for creating awareness on various diseases in “Arogya Jeevan Darshan” organized by Civil Hospital in Feb’04.
Vadodara	Health education in the schools of Vadodara Diseases detection & treatment camp and training to the health workers in Chotaudaipur with help of Deepak Charitable Trust.
Valsad	Oragnised a Village Health Workshop with help of Nandigram organization.
